Effective Writing 101
As much as we like to read other people’s writings, we should keep in mind that other people like to read ours.
When you are reading a piece, whether it be poetry or a story or whatever, you find yourself sneaking into the inside of it. You feel you are living its moments… Your soul flows in the mood. Then all of a sudden, you are dropped back from the ninth cloud back to the ground. Did you ever feel this way? If you did because of the language problems in the piece, bear with me….
Here are some tips to effective writing:
Use Word for writing, then cut or copy and paste to your page in the forum.
Always turn on you spelling check and grammar check options in Word.
Be your own editor. Reread your writing to yourself and see if you find mistakes to correct or sentences to change.
Before you send your writings, preview it to see if all effects went well and that it is ready to be born.
Always ask yourself if your ideas are clear to someone who does not know what you are thinking at the time you are writing. Then check to see if it all makes sense.
Choose an interesting title that relates to your topic.
Don’t use mobile message language or any other abbreviations unless it is just a comment you are writing.
Clarify, explain, and use examples if you have to. After all, you want others to feel something about what you are writing and that won’t happen if you are not clear.
Don’t resist yourself! Write when you are in the mood and not in a hurry.
Finally, have fun and let those words flow!
There maybe other tips which apply, I wish you would add them in your responses. After all, this is for all of us.
Write on!
